Penzance - Penzance & The Scilly Isles

Following the success of this tour in 2011, we again include the tour “Penzance and the Scilly Isles”, staying at one of the top hotels in Cornwall. All rooms on this tour have a sea view, many featuring the famous Mount’s Bay and there is an inclusive day trip to the Isle of Scilly! In addition to this inclusive trip, there will also be the usual day tours around the tip of Cornwall. We have cut our costs to make this once in a lifetime tour as reasonable as possible.

The town of Penzance is full of interest, at the feet of the columns of the Market House (built 1838) stands a statue of Penzance’s most famous son Sir Humphrey Davy – the man who invented the safety lamp for miners. The Isles of Scilly are also full of history and architecture. Legend has it that they are all that remain of Lyonnesse, a land ruled by King Arthur before it vanished beneath the Atlantic.

Day 1:

We travel southwest through Devon and Cornwall to our new Hotel, the Queens, in Penzance; to arrive in time to relax before our evening meal.

Day 2 - 4:

During days 2 to 4, there will be one full day and one half day excursion plus our day trip by sea to the Isle of Scilly part of which we hope to arrange a coach tour of the island, (inclusive in the tour price – subject to the boat time table). These day trips could include visiting the towns of: Lands End, Truro, St. Ives, Falmouth or the Lizard (the southern most tip of Britain). You will also have free time to wander around the glorious town of Penzance where you could stroll along the sea front, or maybe visit the Mount itself.

Day 5:

After breakfast we return to Gloucestershire with a lunch stop en-route in either Plymouth or Exeter and arrive back in the late afternoon.

The Queens Hotel

As stated in the introduction above, we have arranged for all rooms on this tour to have sea views! The hotel also has a restaurant which overlooks the seafront, a bar and a relaxing lounge. All rooms have en-suite facilities with a television, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.
