Three Countries Tour
‘France, Switzerland & Italy’
Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc is shared between France and Italy and is close to the border with Switzerland. On this alpine adventure we’ll get a taste of all 3 countries while staying in the French town of Annecy, Cheltenham’s twin town. We’ll witness gorgeous lakes, stunning mountains, spectacular tunnels and high alpine villages and resorts
Day 1:
We depart Gloucestershire early in the morning and make our way to our overnight stop in St Quentin. We are booked into this hotel on a bed & breakfast basis but it is in the centre of town with a number of restaurants on the doorstep.
Day 2:
After breakfast we continue through France and into the Alps, arriving at our hotel in time for our evening meal.
Day 3:
Today is a free day in Annecy where you can explore the town, or maybe even take a cruise on the Lake.
Day 4:
Today we travel alongside Lake Annecy via Faverges and Albertville to the delightful town of Chambery for a stop. The second visit of the day will be stylish Aix-les-Bains on Lac Du Bourget before completing a circular tour of the Mountains and returning to the hotel.
Day 5:
Today we travel first to Chamonix at the base of Mont Blanc where we will then travel through the Mont Blanc Tunnel to the Aosta valley and visit the medieval town of Aosta. Take your camera as the views will be spectacular.
Day 6:
Today is a free day in Annecy where you can explore the town, or maybe even take a cruise on the Lake.
Day 7:
Today we visit the 3rd of our countries “Switzerland”. We travel to the French side of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) and lovely Evian-Les-Bains for a brief visit before boarding a boat for a trip across the lake to the Swiss town of Lausanne. Here you will have approximately 3 hours before you return via the cruise boat to the French side of the lake. Passengers must note that the boats sail on a strict timetable and it is the passsengers responsibility to ensure that they join the correct boat at the correct time as the driver may not be with you in Lausanne.
Day 8:
We depart after breakfast and make our way to Reims where you will be able to have a look round and have an evening meal, before travelling onward to St Quentin to our Hotel.
Day 9:
We depart after breakfast and with suitable stops en-route and our ferry crossing to Dover make our way back to Gloucestershire arriving early evening.
